I wanted to pass along some information from our good friend Meaghan Bence, founder and creator of the Amazing Race for Colon Cancer in memory of their friend Michael J. Bannister, who passed away from this disease in 2005. They're raising awareness and money for a cure and enjoying a few adult beverages along the way. The details are as follows:

When: March 19th, 12PM-4PM
Where: Eammon's Pub (41 Murray Street)
What: Scavenger Hunt/Obstacle Course followed by drinks
Cost: $45 dollars/person with half the proceeds going to benefit the Chris4Life Colon Cancer Foundation.

Do some good and take part in this or at the very least donate a few bucks securely online:

Happy St. Patrick's Month to you all!

Successful Night & Micro Philanthropy

On behalf of BWF and Wounded Warriors Project, thanks so much to everyone who made it this past Saturday! We had 70 people show up and raised over $600. We're working on something for the summer and a fund raiser for the fall.

I also wanted to link to a good friends of ours, Maureen Coiro, who is donating $1 to WWP as part of her micro philanthropy project. To learn more about it, you can visit her at MicroMoco.

Cheers to you good-hearted human being. For your good deeds, you get a motivational video.

Hoagie Day Shenanigans

In a three short days, we'll be celebrating the 5th Annual Hoagie Day. As always, we're kicking off at noon at McSorley's in the Easy Village. The first 15 attendees will receive a free surprise gift.

For those of you who haven't participated before, a little background. In 2006, Mike "Hoagie" Holden passed away too young. Mike was known for, among other things, making people laugh, just ask Joe Buck. For the past 4 years,  Mike's friends and family have gotten together to celebrate his life and re-live those stories. Along the way, we've also managed to create some good times ourselves. Come join us and become a part of the Hoagie Day Lore. Look forward to seeing you.

Anyways, the details again are: 8PM - 11PM, $40 for all you can drink liquor and beer. All proceeds are going to support folks like Roberto.

Happy Holidays!

Hey everyone,

It's been some time since we've updated our website. Over the past two month's, we've had to delay the annual Hoagie Day celebration (originally scheduled for December 4, now moved to January 8), had two membership meetings at New Amsterdam Hall/Santacon 2010, and have been gearing up for our first Night Out with Friends event on January 22nd. The membership ranks have grown by two since we originally started this adventure (welcome Adam and Bob). We were also able to have two of our out-of-town members join us on the Santacon adventure this weekend.

We're truly excited to have you join us in January. In the meantime, happy holidays from all of us at Benefits with Friends!
